We learned that the San Francisco-based startup Stripe launches the currency Stellar and a payment network such that you can send in one currency and have it delivered in any currency anywhere in the world. Of the 95 billion Stellars, half will be given to people who signed up via Facebook.

With some of Silicon Valley’s brightest at the helm, Stellar has just as good a chance as any current crypto-currency perhaps to be, well, stellar.
